we activley have been living without Wi-Fi for almost a year(?) now (due to literally only able to afford food and rent rn) and it's difficult considering life now needs everything to be online, but luckily i still have data to work with
this is why 100% of my art is just a photo ive taken on my phone bc i have no way to transfer images to my phone lol. I've no clue how to
but here's some tips to anyone also struggling with something similar but still want to post art who ALSO can't transfer images
* if you are taking a photo of an ipad, computer, or another phone screen it's important to know that you will never get the perfect photo. it's another screen you're capturing! it's gonna be a little wonky
onto the tips:
these tips are in regards to those who want to take photos of their screen. please note that this is coming from MY experience
1.) when taking the photo do not put your phone closer to the device!! use your camera (or discord) to zoom into the image this helps make the drawing more clear
2.) when zooming in, make sure you are as centred as you can be - being as head-on as possible helps keep proper focus on the image you wish to capture (it's also important to note that sometimes you will have to adjust camera or environmental lighting, and that you may need to take your photo(s) in landscape!)
3.) once you have your right angle, feel comfortable, etc. please make sure you have taken the photo a little bigger than necessary. the bigger the piece the more space you'll need around it. this will help you with step 4
4.) after you take your photo go into your gallery or preferred photo editing app and crop the image to your preferred size. this is why it's important to take a more spacious photo!! you need that extra space so you can create an even further focus on your artwork
5.) now this is just an added thing i do but i use a background remover (make sure, if it's not an entirely coloured piece, that you colour your work with at least a slightly grey tone so it doesn't only leave lineart behind — if wanted) so that my artwork is now completely the focus! this makes it easier to add backgrounds on my phone that may be more detailed OR if i prefer using an image at the time that i cannot get access to on my other device
6.) IF WANTED, whether you remove the background or not, you can always try to enhance the image by editing the contrasts and hues of your photo in your gallery or preferred photo editing app. this can bring out the lineart more clearly and possibly your colours as well
if you want to leave your own tips please feel free to :)! i'm also fine with answering any questions so please don't be afraid to ask for help ♡
do you guys ever just accidentally like make one part of a brush customization in ibistpaint too much to the point that ibustpaint will crash the moment you even try to select it
