The cool air of the mountain felt pleasant as it breezed through Nephrite’s hair. Now this was a good spot to rest. It was high, it was quiet, and there was nobody else to disturb them. Well, almost nobody else, as it turned out.
Scanning the horizon, they spotted a stranger into the distance. Whether or not they were looking back was undetermined. It was likely that they had saw the pilot’s descent.

Despite the fact that they were already lonely enough, Nephrite spent most of their time sulking somewhere when not in battle. They missed Heliodor-- hell, they missed their other crewmates, too! But they just.. did not have the energy to talk to anyone anymore. Most of it was being spent up either fighting or in quiet rage.
Hearing footsteps, they let out a loud sigh. “Make it quick,” They called out, looking down at the dirt.

What a mystery the Earth was to Nephrite. Gems had been there, and yet it looked like there was no trace of their arrival, at least from what little they say. Granted, it had been thousands of years and they have barely seen anything, but where were all the Crystal Gems?? Surely they would’ve ran into one by now. All that there was though was the organic life and humans, which only confused them more.
They paused in their trek down the sandy beach, noticing someone with their back turned to them. Normally it didn’t matter to them, they saw humans on the beach before. But this... didn’t seem like a human.
“Humans don’t have bright red hair.. right?” They pondered quietly to themself.

Nephrite’s stop to Earth was only meant to be a short one; resupplying, grabbing whatever spare parts that might actually be useful for them, letting their ship rest. And finding Heliodor, of course. Though they didn’t really have much hope here. All the Gems were gone-- Well, Homeworld ones, given the apparent victory of the Crystal Gems. Actually, they hadn’t seen any of them in their returns, either. Strange.
They were pulled out of their thoughts at the sudden appearance of someone in their view. They halted, hiding behind a rock. Fortunately, though, whoever was in the long distance didn’t seem to notice them. They peeked over again, narrowing their eyes a bit. This.. person certainly looked different, different from any human they had seen. Then again, they hadn’t exactly seen a lot of them, either. Still, even with their strong vision, it was hard to tell exactly who or what they were.
Laying their arms on top of the rock, he rested his head down, simply watching for now to see what they would do.
