The Quiet Rise of Companions Who Have a History

Spend an afternoon watching people set up an AI girlfriend on sweetdream.ai and you notice something unexpected. They linger. Before they ever start a conversation, they are deciding whether she grew up by the sea or in some loud city, whether she is the type to text first or wait. The character builder on SweetDream invites that kind of patience, letting users shape looks, voice, temperament and an actual backstory rather than picking from a thin menu of presets.

What stands out, observationally, is how much the backstory changes the chat itself. Because SweetDream's conversations are emotionally intelligent and remember context, a companion with a defined past starts referencing it on her own, the way a real person carries their history into a relationship. The effect is subtle the first day and striking by the second week.

Plenty of platforms promise an AI companion. Tools like candy.ai and ourdream.ai have their followers. But the people I watched kept returning to SweetDream specifically because the personality felt authored, not assembled, and because everything they built stayed entirely private.

It's been a while since she's been back at the Kai school. She's an entirely different person since she was first assigned to Supreme Kai Chronoa...it felt like ages has passed, but it's only been around 20-something years?

27 years to be exact...

Io gave a small exhale. Her blue eyes observing the different fresh faces, some assigned to their positions already and some not.

She felt different compared to her kin - she's definitely had a unique experience comparatively. Married to a mortal...with children as well!

"Hm?" Her orb blinked and she ducked somewhere private to take the call.

"MOM! SAI IS ON SOME SECRET MISSION WITH SOMEONE STRONG AND HE WON'T SAY WHO!" Parsa....Io's eldest and most like Toma. Definitely a handful, but that Legendary Saiyan gene gives her a run for her money..

"Because it's NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" Sai, her youngest. Her precious baby boy. He's been struggling lately...he doesn't have the Legendary Saiyan gene and hasn't grasped high level magic, but...he's doing his best.

"Can we all just...tone it down...??" Deito, the middle. He's being trained to be a Kai apprentice as Trunks was in another time. His skill with magic has been amazing, but he still gives his siblings a hard time.

Io gave a long sigh before interrupting the chaos on her orb.

"All of you - shhh! Tone it down. Parsa, Sai is on his own journey right now, with his own battles. He doesn't need to give us all the details. You have your own training to focus on. Deito...uhg, please have your father intervene with this?"

Deito nodded and ended the call before the other two could squabble again. Io allowed her orb to minimize and rubbed her temples before glancing to the side and seeing another Kai staring at her...

"Uhm...Hello...?" She said half awkwardly and prayed they didn't make any assumptions.

Today had been long for the school girl. She had returned to her time recently to try to do some catch up in school, but in doing so she also somehow managed to get sick.

Struggling to stay away and trying to fight off a coughing fit, Kagome rubbed her eyes as she continued writing her notes down at her desk.

She really needed to use what time she had available here to get some work done as she knew Inuyasha would be coming to get her soon.

"I can do this." She told herself, rubbing her eyes as she fought sleep.

Wounds

Eiríkr hissed under his breath as he clutches his bleeding side, hoping the pressure would stop the bleeding soon. He had expected some trouble coming to a Dwarven trading town, but he hadn’t expected to get into a fight so quickly. Not that he really knew what he’d done this time. In fact, if anything it was that one dwarf’s fault to start with. A red-haired dwarf had stepped on his tail when he had tried to push his way towards the bar at an Inn; Eiríkr had yelped and gotten a little angry, which - in hindsight - the dwarf probably took as a threat, and then all hell broke loose. His eyes darted back and forth and he tried to locate a good place to lie down and heal his wounds. There was no way he’d be welcomed back at that particular inn any time soon, and so far no one had even stopped to offer any help - let alone anything else than harsh looks. Pretty standard stuff really. However; a little ahead he spotted a temple. Eiríkr paused and regarded the place. It looked harmless enough, but he still didn't trust it. Temples rarely liked his kind unless it was one dedicated to a darker deity, and surely a Temple in a heavily Dwarf populated city would be no different. He sighed and tried to not think about how badly his body ached. He needed a bath, some stitches and ideally some food and drink. “Fuck,” he cursed softly as he felt himself wobble slightly on his feet, his tail in too much pain to be of any help either as he struggled to make a decision. Temple or that back alley over there? Eiríkr grimaced. Surely the alley would be less likely to reject him, right?

Where had Kay gotten herself lost now? She just wanted to be at the entrance of the forest, but heard a noise and wandered on in with no way of finding her way out. She groaned as she pushed a few plants out of the way so they won’t be crashed under her weight as she looked around the forest, the trees let’d little to none light shine through. She had her hands in her pockets as the sound of nothing but the wind blowing through the air carrying the sweet smell of flowers that were around the forest. It wasn’t that bad she guessed. The forest was quite lovely.

Her steps were so quiet as she went on through the forest, before noticing a rather large Manor coming into view, she raised a brow at this. Why would there be one way out here she thought as she walked towards, wondering if anyone lived within it. she stared at it as she soon reached the doors of it, knocking on it and waiting a few minutes, when no one answered she pushed the doors to see it wasn’t locked? How strange, she thought as she entered it and looked around “How lovely, it looks quite well kept, wonder if there is anyone truly living here by how it looks..” Kay said as she wandered more into the Manor.

Kay had not a clue where the hell she was, but it looked like a school? Why was she at a school? Who knows, weirder things had happened before, so she sorta shrugged it off as she walked onto the school grounds, sorta shocked no one questioned her?  She had her hands in her leather jacket’s pockets as she looked around the school grounds, looks rather nice. The trees are pretty looking too. She noticed a female, well everyone else has this bright color hair deal she didn’t so that was a good sight she guessed,  so she walked towards her.

Kay really sucked ass when it came to wandering into newer areas, she had heard of this Commonwealth area, and has not a damn clue where she was going, she looked around as she hoped to see another person that can help her with this new area, cause she truly didn’t know shit.

After an hour of wandering the Commonwealth she finally found someone they looked to be male with long black hair, right now he look like a damn savior to her as she quickly went over to him, hoping he could help her.
