Tadpoles Nebula & NGC 1893 - SHO Palette Located in the constellation Auriga, NGC 1893 is a star cluster surrounded by a large HII region designated as IC 410. This are has produced some stunning nebulosity including a portion we call the Tadpoles. Normally I focus on its neighbor, the Flaming Star Nebula, but I decided to put on my Meade 80mm Triplet and shoot this are at a focal length of 480mm. I was only able to get just under six hours, amd because of other targets I want to get I may not get any more data on this for a while . 49 x 420s Dark, flat, dark flat and bias calibration frames 800 ISO - Bortle 8 - 7°C / 45% RH . IC 410

IC 410 is an emission nebula located about 12,000 light years away towards the constellation Auriga. The nebula is over 100 light years across, illuminated by star cluster NGC 1893.

The stars of NGC 1893 are only about 4 million years old. Stellar winds and radiation from the cluster sculpt and energize surrounding clouds of dust and gas, shaping the nebula and causing it to glow. The “tadpoles” of IC 410, to the right and below the center of this image, are composed of cooler material and may be sites for star formation.
