But how do you make sure that they’re not lying about their age
sadly you can’t really, it’s a bit of an honour system mixed with common sense and using your judgement. if something feels off i just don’t interact and block
i also never send anything explicit, partly for my own boundaries, but also because you can never be 100% sure who you’re actually talking to
What books do you read // recommend?
i’m a bit all over the place honestly, but i tend to lean towards more introspective or character-driven stuff lately. i finished reading in the dark recently, and the next one i’m starting is hamnet. i loved the film so i’ve got pretty high hopes for the novel
i haven’t had as much time to read lately as i’d like, unfortunately
if you’re looking for recs i can definitely make a list when i have the time, and i’m always open to recommendations myself if you’ve got any :)
Biceps and the gray sweatpants. Are you trying to kill us?
that wasn’t the intent haha
I appreciate how strict you are about younger people interacting with you, sometimes they don’t see the wrongness in it till years later
yeah, it’s honestly both for my own boundaries, since I’m genuinely not interested in talking with someone that much younger than me, and also because I think a lot of younger people don’t always realise how those dynamics are actually really weird or feel in hindsight
I remember being 18 in pubs or clubs and having people in their 30s come onto me, and it made me really uncomfortable. it wasn’t until a few years later that I fully realised just how fucked that actually was
and I’d also always rather be a bit stricter about it than cross my own boundaries.
(and if any 18 year olds are reading this and think that talking to 27 year old isn't that bad, please keep in mind that if you talked to someone 9 year younger than you, you would be talking to a 9 year old... i understand that a lot of guys your own age can feel like a bunch of immature fuckheads rn and you want to talk to someone more "mature", but trust me, the older guys who are willing to talk to you are the ones who never matured. it's genuinely better to just wait!)
why are your dms only for 20+? :c
Because I’m not comfortable talking to anyone younger than that. And I’ll probably change it to 21+. I just don’t want to talk to anybody who is that young. no reason for a 27 year old man to be talking to teenagers online, even if they are over 18. And anyone who follows or interacts with my blog who isn’t 18+ also gets blocked
Our magpies are little demons hahah - if you visit Aus, make sure its not in the spring time, they will swoop you hahah
Hahaha okay that sounds mildly terrifying. I’ll make sure to avoid spring so
do you think scars on women are cool or kinda gross? seems like a lot of people these days think they are yucky..
Scars don’t really factor into how I feel about someone, they’re just part of their body and their life. Nothing “yucky” about that, and it wouldn’t make me think any differently of someone. Everyone’s been through things, and sometimes that shows physically. It does make me concerned and sad to hear that anyone would find that off-putting though. Especially if its men feeling that about women
