Julien checks her waist band for her gun. She shifts her weight in her beaten pair of running shoes as she makes her way to Indy's and Ryan's room. It's good to have a space of her own after so many years. It makes her feel like she can breathe without breathing in one of the West-Moores.
She knocks when she arrives, holding her breath and hoping -- hoping really that maybe they don't answer it, that she can go run alone, that she can get angry and cry by herself somewhere in the desert like surroundings. To her dismay, Ryan's groggy voice chimes out, "Yeah?"
She opens the door to find the other on her back, her arm over her face and with the little german shepard by her side. He's still a little lethargic, although he's been coming around an awful lot lately under their care. She comes to sit at Ryan's side and jostles the puppy who doesn't like it and goes to sit around the solider's head with a soft simper. She loves him, honestly -- she loves seeing Icarus with Ryan more. He brings the solider to herself.
She leans heavily on her arm as the solider looks at her from under their arm in silence, waiting to be informed. Julien's fingers flick across Ryan's arm to bring it down, "I just wanted to check in before I went out for a run." She wonders were Indy is and she hears the shower going. Before she can watch her own mouth, she quietly comments that maybe Ryan should shower too, that it could help with the aches and pains. The solider's arm comes back over her eyes to block some of the light out with a light sound of disagreement.
"Did you take your medication yet?" She realizes this is the wrong person to ask and that becomes an ugly pit in her stomach, "I'll just ask Indy really quick." Without thinking, yet again, she pecks Ryan's forehead like she's done a million times, like Indy does all the time-- He says it grounds Ryan, she's not so sure, on the other hand, Julien does it because she enjoys it and it makes her feel close to the other. She's always been an outsider intruding her entire life.
She gets up and puts her ear to the cracked door way, "Hey, Indy?" She hears the shower curtain open and she's more then content to imagine him naked. "Did you give Ryan her injection and medication?" She hears his thick swallow, "Uh, no." She sighs a little, "I'm gonna do that and then go for a run?" The water shuts off immediately. Julien's eyes shut. She feels like a prisoner some days. Running was her only escape.
A towel draws out a metallic sound as it's taken from the rack. He comes, making the hot steam of the shower filter through the room and she doesn't want to look at him. "Is there a problem?" she asks as she crosses her arms as if she's trying to protect herself from his firm 'no way in hell are you going out there.'
"No, just-- be safe. I can do it."
For once she's relieved and takes in a sharp breath when she realized she had been too anxious for his answer or denial. "Show me where you keep her stuff now." She is more then happy to do this. She leads him back to her room and she digs through her bag to find the medication before he swallows her up in a crushing hug that she didn't realize she needed. He's perceptive of emotional things. He's always seemed to pick up on moods and honestly, he's good at reading body language. Or maybe just her's and Ryan's.
She's off the ground for a full minute, her arms wrapped around his neck as she cries just a little bit over Priscilla and Lily. It's almost worse then loosing Eddie. There's not photos. There's no proof that Eddie every existed, not in her context with Julien -- there's nothing left of any of that and it hurts. There's no more proof of their love. He lets her down and he kisses her forehad as she wipes at her wet eyes and nose.
"Take adolf, take your gun." She nods and he stops her again to clasp her head in between his big hands, "You okay?" She shakes her head, "I will be. Give Ryan a big kiss for me when you stick the needle in her, okay?" It was a good method of distracting the solider from the thick needle. He nods in agreement as he claps her pink baseball cap on her head as she bends to grab the blue case and some medications to help with the muscle tension and seizures.
"Make sure she eats. No caffeine. One pill of each bottle." He gives a mirthless smile. "I appreciate what you do for me and Ry." It's his way of acknowledging how deep the loss runs. "Just get me booze if you really mean it," she tells him with a touch to the name on his chest as she breaks away.
They both know all the dancing on ice has to do with the one important thing they have in common. Ryan.
