I had the privilege of performing for Olga Makarina at the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute this evening. It was a fun night and everyone sang beautifully.

Drabble #8 - Scent And Feel

2P!America's Point Of View

Moss. Pine. Lumber. Fresh air, the outdoors.

Maple syrup. Maple trees.

A hint of marijuana.

I chuckled quietly, my nose resting against Matt's neck as we laid inter tangled on the bed.

I closed my eyes, just enjoying the warmth and scent of the blonde.

Our breathing had long slowed, our body long dried of the sweat and our minds sharpened from the fuzz of arousal and sex.

Yet we stayed like this, both silent.

It was enough to enjoy each other's presence before our usual bickering and fighting started up again.

Before we had to return to the real world and face our problems, mistakes and differences.

It was enough.

The scent of the great Canadian outdoors, maple syrup with hints of Cannabis and sex.

That was all I needed at this moment.

Just the scent of Matt. Just the feel of Matt.

It was enough. In this moment, I knew.

It'd always be enough.

I'm just back at uni and I've tried to throw myself completely in to it this year. I'm determined to do well this year which will hopefully help me out quite a lot next year. But it's so hard. I'm already so stressed out by it all. I'm in uni 9 hours a week over 5 days. It's not a lot, I know. In my Ideological Concepts and Values class we were told we were expected to do 18 hours independent studying and work outside of class/tutorials. I did some quick maths with this figure and my other classes. I have 4 subjects, Spanish, Catalan, Business Spanish and ICAV. If I do 18 hours independent study for these classes that is 72 hours a week. Plus the 9 hours I attend class is 81 hours. There are 168 hours in the week. 168 - 81 = 87. I have 87 hours to eat/sleep/work/live. 87 divided by 7 is 12.4 (can you tell I miss maths?) We'll round that to 12. I have 12 hours a day to eat/sleep/work/travel to uni/have a life. That is so little time! MADNESS! I roughly have 4 hours a day to myself if I go on the premise that I acheive the healthy amount of 8 hours sleep per night. Sometimes I don't think a degree is worth the time and money you put in to it. Honestly. I can only hope it all is! I've started now... I'm determined to finish it, and to finish it at a high standard!
