I’m shocked nobody noticed C’s reaction to her “beard” statement in the new interview. 🤔
Dear Beard Anon,
Sorry for the belated answer and thank you for drawing my attention to C's recent interview to TV Insider: https://youtu.be/Pg6_fQ0l0Ho?si=AjPXKQTn2rGO4u9P [posted on May 2nd, 2026 and reposted by @cajon-desastre]
You mean this little gem?
Adding my transcript, for clarity:
'[Claire Fraser]: I hated you.
[CB]: Mmmmh... so this was the scene... umm... in Season 2, where Jamie is released from jail and it is right after Claire has lost Faith... emm... and Jamie has an epic beard [smirks and puffs 😉].. but we have this really heartbreaking scene where, you know, it's... two people who are in an awful lot of pain and feel sort of betrayed by each other, or let down by each other. Abandoned in those moments when they really needed each other and it's ... yeah, that sort of fallout from all of that. And it's hard for them sort of get past it - but they do. But I do remember, Sam's beard was stuck on and I remember it being very hard for him to move his face [almost starts giggling in earnest] and he was very irritated by it. And I felt that was very funny. But yeah, so it's so funny, sometimes you have these very emotional and really heartbreaking scenes, but then in like, real life, there's things that are quite funny and it's hard to, like, put that aside sometimes. Eeeehmmm... and that's it. Awww....
Again, make of it what you wish. To Anon, to me and clearly to at least to some (many?) other people, this reads rather like a study - a masterclass, even - in ambiguity.
