Sculpture of Bob Marley at the largest permanent ice gallery in the world.
Ice Gallery, Seoul.
Many people do not know about this place, it's so underrated I feel! But those people who do their research will know that this place exists. When I was there with lim, there were only two other couples and that's it.
This place is the best because most ice sculpture museums require people to travel far out into colder places to view all these pieces of art. Although this place is smaller as compared to the larger scale events, I think it'll be perfect for those people seeking a cool hideout in the hot Korean summer (what are we doing here in winter?!). But located in the centre of Seoul is this gem that hardly anyone has ever heard about! It is about a 400m walk from Anguk Station and the entrance fee costs only 7,000W($7+sgd). If you want a hands on experience, another 5,000W will allow you to sit through an express ice moulding class by a professional where the only tool you will need is the chisel.
Excited! Can't wait to head inside.
The door leading one to Narnia. Sort of lah use your imagination k.
Winter jackets provided. I guess it's more for summer because people won't be lugging their coats around but since it's winter we have our own!
Last shot before we head in!
It was my first experience in this type of museum! If you come to think about it, in another state everything will just be water. But maintaining at -5deg, water is a whole new different, magical story!
Probably my favourite feature, the Piano!
Pretty right!
Telephone and computer desktop, all made from ice.
Hahaha ice bed!
Fire place.
Korea's number one kid's resident president, Pororo!
Igloo and icemen and friends.
Traditional Korean Houses (hanok). Just like the real ones outside the museum!
I think you know what these two sculptures are haha.
What's winter without an ice slide? I was only wearing one layer of normal leggings you can imagine! But still, fun!
Always leaving my mark at attractions. There are so many more photos! But I posted only the famous ones :) You should definitely check this place out yourself!
The ice sculpting guy told me that he wanted to give us free service so we had an ice sculpting class for free! Save 5,000W! Thank God for favour! I had pretty much more than alot of fun! I took so long to mould the rectangular block into this mug shape thingy.
Having a drink, cheers to all the hard work!
Haha I got first place -.- And in return, a crown made up of ice!
Enjoying my drink, no need for ice cubes! So functional, maybe I should set up a cafe that serves drinks in such ice cups.
Throwing the cup away amongst many other cups. The whole experience took up about almost 2 hours, some people completed it within an hour if you don't bother about snapping pictures and all. For 7,000W, this museum has so much to offer! Hope that as the months go by, more people will give this place more support and love because they totally deserve it. ♥
