Location: Sentinel and Gateway Points
Author: Llanai Flight:Ice Type: City/Cities
After years of isolation, Icewarden finally gave way to the whims of his siblings, allowing non ice dragons into The South, while also allowing the descendants of the first tundras freedom of travel for the first time. Along with this, he established outposts at the narrowest crossings to the mainland. They were named Sentinel and Gateway. From these places, Icewarden and his exalted could manage the flow of dragons and other creatures and goods into and out of the Icefields as well as create a catchnet for those prisoners attmepting to escape to the warmth of the continent. Before long there was robust trade along these routes, and markets began to set up in the forts, then new arrivals began to stay in the safety of the walls as they began their new lives and those leaving sought refuge there as well, resting before the journey across the sea. It was this way that the cities of Sentinel and Gateway spilled over the fortress walls and into the snow and stone. They grew and grew, grander and grander with each passing year... Today these cities are Ice Flight's largest. They are old strongholds of Ice culture and traditions and are still the only true and civilized entrances to the frozen south. Each features a port for fliers and sea ships and a long guarded road to its city center. There, the original structure of each stands, a great watchtower from which the exalted guards keep vigilant eye on the surroundings. Outside of this are six other towers, connected by tunnel as well as an underground prison complex standard in Ice Flight cities. On the surface is the city itself, populated by many an established Ice Clan, as well as new arrivals from the other flights. The Icefields' largest markets are found here as well as financial hubs and banking centers attracted by the low crime rates.
Location: Clan of Drifting Icecaps
Author: Bekuno on FR Flight: Ice (Southern Sea) Type: Mini-Continent / Islands Location name: The Clan Of Drifting Icecaps
While also functioning as a clan, the Clan of Drifting Icecaps works as it's own city. It exists in the Southern Sea, outside of the Icewardens domain. It's a decent flight from the Southern Icefields, and for that reason visitors are treated to many amenities as thanks for visiting. The clan supports the idea of uniting Sornieth in harmony, but allowing it's members to chose their own flights and practice their beliefs and culture safely. They try their best to offer peace and well wishes to all those passing through. Some places of interest include a tavern, a trade hub with multiple local artisans, a large library with books and scrolls from all across Sornieth (you're welcome to leave one behind!), a community garden, a workshop, a forge, a boutique, and more! Many of the clan members are skilled in a particular craft and happy to work with others. One of the islands is nothing but empty dens for vistors to rest in, and those who enjoy their stay are more than welcome to continue doing so or even join the clan as long as they contribute. While more so a safe haven than a resort, the clan is a great place for dragons who are lost, stressed, or simply looking for something new. The clan will continue to grown nonetheless, and offer more and more for visiting dragons as the seasons pass. Living out there isn't easy, why do it alone?
