There was a lot to see on the Express—maybe a bit too much. 

At least Welt figured to be mindful of the possibility of getting overwhelmed, it was why he had made sure to have a small cup of water ready in the main carriage before he had brought Gua along. “If you want to take a moment to sit, please go ahead. This was beginning to feel like a very familiar scene. 

Though instead of the small girl with dog ears, it seemed to be a foxian boy that’s taken a great interest in his food. Instead of waiting for Tesla to start going off on how stealing food’s stupid and she hates people rude like this before Einstein would stop her to feed said girl a portion of his (unjustly sacrificed) sandwich, Welt was left on his own with the berrypheasant skewers. 

The sense of strange irony really couldn’t be shaked for the life of it. 

It was easy enough to pretend he hadn’t noticed the shuffling and the breathing, Welt was that good at masking the mutations, but he was too tickled to not move the little plate just a bit in the boy’s direction as his eyes remained fixated on the datapad he had been reading. “Even growing boys should have a bite, though I don’t think these are the healthiest choice.” He set the datapad down after marking his spot and finally turned to attention. 

“Though asking an old man if he’s willing to share his snacks also goes a long way. I don’t mind, before you ask, they’re quite good.”
