It’s so fitting that my last video of 2018 would be this one. I can’t believe I’ve made over 200 of them this year. 200 little moments that I’ve loved and learned deeply from. I had a plan at the beginning of this year and it’s so fascinating to see the results now. I’ll be entering 2019 flying 35,000 feet in the air with no concept of exactly where and when I am, but I *will* know who I am and what I hope to accomplish in 2019 and beyond! I think this moment pretty much sums up what 2018 has been for me. Getting to film, skate, and reconnect with friends I haven’t seen since I stopped competing… Finding that skating has a place in the world outside of the practice arena… And realizing that I can bring everything I love about myself onto the ice… and build something amazing out of it. Thank you, 2018, and everyone who shared this year with me, for helping me discover who I am and what I love to do. Oh, and like this video, this is just the beginning! ❄️ A big thank you to Randy Gardner and Sharidan Williams-Sotelo of the @gofiguredocumentary for helping us get ice time at @dtsantamonica’s #IceatSM. The indie documentary is about Randy’s life and career and is near the end of its crowdfunding drive with less than $6K to go to fund its post production. I also did some on ice filming with them back in May, so it would greatly honor me if you could help it reach its goal before New Year’s Eve!
