Bad End Romance

There he was ok the same place he had been far too long. Time had lost meaning as did his very existence. In the middle of the empty room there she was floating, stopped in time, the corpse of his love, his queen. The moments of that day flashing through his mind over and over, how after there game was over and she had revealed her name the man who had hired her bursts into the room and shoots. His beloved taking the bullet for him knowing that if it hit Dio would have been pushed into the balcony and the sun would have taken him.
What happened next was a blur, all Dio knows is that nothing was left of the man, no blood, no clothes, nothing, he had been wiped from existence itself, such was his ire, the rage that she never got the chance to witness. He held her in his arms afterwards, even tried to give her his blood to bring her back but it was too late…her body healed, the wound on her forehead gone and yet she remained lifeless, her soul was gone.
How long ago did that happen? Was it weeks? Months, even years? He had lost count and had stopped caring as well. He simply spent his days staring at her, knowing that this is what a monster like him gets , how could he even dream that he could be happy…but for it to end this way…he just couldn’t accept it.
In his hand he held the arrow that had awakened his stand so long ago. This was one last desperate effort, this could give him the means of bringing her back. He stabbed himself with the arrow, feeling as its power ran wild through him causing him to scream in agony as the power surged through him with enough force to kill a normal human, good thing he wasn’t human.
The arrow fell to the ground, the deed was done and with heavy breath the vampire stood and right above him he saw it, his new power, a second stand. Its form was of a dark circular void, floating in the air, this void spoke to him, told him its name, its power and how to use it. Yes this could work, this could be his only chance.
He took a moment to look at his beloved once more and with the knowledge that time would no longer move for her corpse he left the room and walked outside of his empty home, right into the sun.
Was he mad? Was his plan to meet her again in the afterlife? No. As he stepped out his new stand began to work, absorbing the light from the sun and shielding him from harm but more importantly it was charging itself. Dio stood there for hours, unmoving, completly focused on the task. If his concentration broke for even a second his mortal enemy would devour him in flame but the vampire didn’t falter, his goal was one that had fully consumed all his thoughts and motivation, to see her alive again.
The sun finally set and the his star was fully charged, it was time. “Unleash your power, Black Hole Sun!” He spoke his stands name and its power awakened, the void becoming a portal to somewhere else, another reality, one where she should be alive. He wasted no time and walked through the portal, all without knowing if he could come back or where exactly this would take him, but he didn’t care, he would sacrifice it all just to see her alive again.
On the other side it was night, he had appeared right outside his mansion but it looked different, deserted like no one had lived there in a long time. He made his way inside and searched. Almost all had been cleared out or ransacked by thieves but in the room that was his study he found something, the remains of a letter, almost illegible except for an address in Ireland, his beloved homeland, this had to mean something and so he made his way there.
Using his stand The Word, he stopped time and ran there, crossing thousands of miles until he arrived at the address. With heavy breath he resumed the flow of time and saw that this place was a graveyard. His heart sank but he didn’t dare to think, no there was no way right? He had used his new power to come here so she had to be…he found himself in front of a gravestone with a name that he had repeated in his mind countless times since her death, Nina Williams.
“No…no…am I cursed…is this some sick joke? No no no….no…..” he fell to his knees, he had put too much into this, his last gamble, his last attempt, all for nothing, he wept.
But then his sobbing was interrupted by a cold gun at the back of his head. “You’re not one of the authorized visitors” the man shot Dio in the head and then began to walk off “now I’ll have to get rid of the body and report this to the Empress.” The man took two steps and then heard the man he had just shot get back up.
“Empress? Just who are you?” The glare the vampire gave him shook his very soul. “B-but how I shot you?! No way are you a vampire?! But only the Empress should have those powers!” Dio closed the distance and grabbed the man by the mouth and lifted him off the ground. “Speak in short sentences. Tell me why you’re here.”
After Dio let go of his mouth the man spoke in a panic. “I’m just a guard! I was told to shoot anyone that came to this grave unless they were on the list! I was told shoot anyone that tried to dig it up even if they were on the list!” Dio got closer “oh? And who told you to do this? Your so called empress?”
“Y-yes!” He screamed and then Dio stabbed the man in the neck with his hand and drained him of all his blood. “That’s all, be thankful this is all I do to kill you.” As the man died Dio got some more information from his blood, that this empress was indeed a vampire and that her headquarters was in France.
“I’ll have to give her a visit…to see just what does she have to do with my beloved…but first…I have to know…” he called out his stand the world and used its power to dog the coffin right out of the ground and once opened. “Empty….its empty…what…what does this mean? Could she be alive? That empress must know….” And so he put the coffin back in the ground and buried it with great care, even if empty it still represented her and he treated it with respect and devotion.
Not he set his sights on France. “To think…I would travel there alone instead of with you…” he said softly as he started his new journey.
