4. My character angry with yours over something.
It started with a misunderstanding and it continued with a certain stubbornness.
"Goddamn it!" Nora's fists pounded the door back to back, and she was sure that her friend--if that's what they still were--was purposefully ignoring her angered outbursts in protest. Childish but it couldn't have been more childish than Nora's actions. Surely, she was disturbing the neighbors but both girls knew that, that wouldn't stop her. Not even a little bit. "Open the damn door, Tee." Her fist hit the wood repeatedly as hard as she could. She could almost feel herself starting to crack the door wide open. She received no answer, which only moved to anger her more as she began to start using her feet, attempting to kick the entryway open instead.
"My name is Seulmi, to you. Now go away." She heard from the other side of the door. She had never heard such blind anger directed to her before. Seulmi was much better at keeping her emotions in check, especially her anger, a lot more than Nora was. "Your temper won't work here. Just leave." A growl burned in her throat as she listened to the other.
"This is your problem, you won't fuckin' listen to anything except that messed up shit in your head! Which, by the way, ain't even true." Giving the door one more hit of abuse, she backed up a little bit. "If you would just listen to what I gotta say, man. I thought our friendship was bigger than this. You tryna tell me that I'm wrong?"
A mangled, frustrated sigh left her throat. "Fine, forget it. I'm out. I ain't about to beg you." She started for the hallway but she didn't get far before she heard Seulmi's front door totter open. "Wait, Nora."
"What?" She stopped in her tracks to look over her shoulder. Seulmi took a glance from her door at the girl upon seeing her response; her cheeks and ears were aflame with red, the blood rushing to her face on account of her anger, her fingers looked swollen from trying to beat her door to death; but her eyes. She almost looked as if she were about to cry and it almost threw her heart out. It would have been the first she saw the strong female even shed a tear. She wasn't sure if, in that moment, it would have been out of sadness or simply anger.
"I'll--I'll listen. To what you have to say."
"No, I said I was done tryin' to convince you."
"Nora." Her voice was stern, much as it always was when she was trying to contain her emotions. They were like a perfectly well-oiled checks and balances machine. They knew each other; not by much but it never really took much effort for them to figure each other out.
"Aight, fine." With that, the tension seemed to suddenly dissipate into the air. Seulmi couldn't help smiling a bit as she pushed open her door. "Good."
"You better start makin' some tea, girl, I got a lot to tell you."
