"I'm sure you'd figure it out but it's not going to happen. I'm with you and I'm going to stay with you." Ichigo knew they were both busy men but that also helped their relationship work. Matteo worked his farm, cared for his animals, and sold his produce and animal products. Then there was the Soul Reaper. He had his normal job as a chef and his job as a Soul Reaper. He only got paid for one of them but he still did both.
Feeding people was one passion. Keeping them safe was another one, doing his job of keeping people, and souls safe made him feel good. There was a lot to both jobs but he liked them anyway. "I can come by and help any time you need me to, sweetheart." He'd pick up a cold cloth and dab away the sweat on Matteo's brow before leading his boyfriend to a nearby chair. Where he'd then place the cool cloth upon the farmer's forehead.
"Just sit here and look pretty while I cook a meal and dessert for us, alright?" He'd roll his sleeves, and then look inside Matteo's icebox. Once he found the ingredients he wanted inside it, he'd look in the cupboard for other things he needed. He was going to make pasta. Not one that took forever, because he was making the noodles, they'd cook in less than eight minutes. So he started on the sauce first.
He used garlic, onion, mushrooms, and a nice bit of meat to make the first layer, then he chopped a few tomatoes up and let them char a little bit, before deglazing the pan with some white wine. He then used an emulsion blender to make the sauce creamy instead of chunky. Shrimp would be tossed into the sauce later. While that simmered on the stove, he got to work on the pasta.
