They want Elain to be Gwyn so bad.
Spy Elain is very funny to me. It just shows how completely other fans misunderstand Elain's character. She hates violence and darkness. She wants a life of peace and quiet beauty. And that's okay! Feminine women are powerful too. We need more woman characters like this in fantasy. But I find it funny how Elriels love to talk about how "pro elain" they are while suggesting she is going to change everything about herself to be a spy. There's no canon evidence supporting she could even be a good spy. It goes again Elain as a character. Yet they just love to shove Elain into personality traits that don't belong with her to make her relevant in Azriel's story.
Funny how "Elain Week" is 99% pro-elriel and subtle anti-elucien/anti-gwnyriel content. They know their ship is so bland they can't even have a proper character appreciation week without trying to drag our ships down.
