I'm responding to the people in that link, they are tagged, so I'm most definitely not avoiding repercussions. ^ ^
I have no clue how to shrink this down, though. Bear with me. I believe I have a right to reply. I reply to Ickthid, Kalooeh, Josephthrallin and Kertia.
Ickthid:
Unless we’re referencing old Horde, like, Doomhammer Horde, I disagree. Thrall’s Horde was never like this. Garrosh mutated what the Horde was: a mutual alliance for people that had no one else to turn to, and is having them turn on eachother. That’s pretty un-Horde to me. More so than transpiring with the Alliance.
Oh I was definitely referring to old Horde. There's a reason Thrall's Horde was called the "New Horde". Thrall isn't an orc. That is the main problem with all of these people hating on Garrosh - they are used to a HUMAN orc. He is mentally human.
So yes, I mean Doomhammer's Horde, or - even more accurately - Hellscream's Horde.
Garrosh came from the mag'har. He is untainted by fel magic, he is used to the mentality of the mag'har. On the other hand, he also had years where he was drowning in not only the weight of his father's mistakes - not knowing he'd saved his race in the end - but also the constant death of the few mag'har around him due to the red pox.
Then Thrall told him how his father was a hero. Finally, he found his confidence and in Northrend, he showed his prowess as a military leader. He is a hero.
There is nothing more un-Horde than ...conspiring with the Alliance.
Kalooeh
I’ll probably get yelled at from Kiango, but because of what Blizz has been doing with him, I’d be glad if he got killed, or at the very least got his ass beaten and then got kicked out, and hopefully he’d be humbled.
I don't know why you're mentioning Kiango when I'm the one talking about this and I'll yell at you just as much~
What exactly do you consider "what Blizz [is] doing with him"? Because after looking at what he's doing, what he's said, what he's doing is what he believe is best for his people and those who follow them. Again, he felt unable to lead for so long, he felt like his people didn't have the resources and the lives they deserved in Nagrand and he couldn't get them for him - that is carrying over here. Now he CAN get them. He CAN lead them to the resources and glory they deserve, that they haven't had for so long.
Before it was more the alliance of people that turned to each other for support when they had little else, and now it’s basically being treated like a pure war machine...
That's what it was though - an alliance of people who HAD to bind together. The loyalties forged in that were crumbling even AS IT HAPPENED. Their anger against the Alliance that destroyed their homes, took their land and killed their family - that united them. It doesn't matter that the Alliance suffered the same things - this is the Horde we're discussing.
Garrosh is almost like a President that has taken over when shit was going to hit the fan anyway. AT SOME POINT, all of these extremely different races were going to have a break. Thrall could contain it because, as you said, he is diplomatic.
Garrosh is not, that I will give you. He is a fighter. He leads wars. Successfully mind you. He is a war hero. Also, so many people use human standards to evaluate Garrosh, because Thrall was so human and the players are human.
Garrosh. Is. Not. Human. He is an ORC. He has a different set of values, not entirely different, but different enough that it really seems to boggle people.
Actually now that I think about it, how Garrosh and a lot of orcs are being reminds me a lot of the outland orcs and their being “The True Horde”. So hey, you saying Vol’jin or even the other faction leaders are not being very Horde like, you’re right. Too bad you can’t be in the faction of outland orcs, it seems to fit better into what you’re thinking than what the Azeroth Horde is/was
You're damn right. Good job. GARROSH IS FROM THE TRUE HORDE. The Azeroth Horde was NOT the Horde that Garrosh knows or is trying to maintain. Thank you for making my point for me. Now if only you all could realize that he is doing what he sees as right (and also, mind you, what THRALL has told him of his father's reign).
Josephthrallin
Not to mention, Garrosh tried to have Vol’jin killed and enslaved his people. Why the hell would he say anything nice about the guy now? He went back to Thrall, OG new Horde leader, and Thrall sided with him.
That seems pretty god damn Horde to me.
Okay. Let's get this straight. GARROSH DID NOT TRY TO KILL VOL'JIN.
Rak'gor Bloodrazor took it upon himself to kill Vol'jin because Garrosh told him that Vol'jin might betray them. He did it WITHOUT Garrosh's knowledge. Also. Look what Vol'jin's doing.
Betraying them.
Kertia
I think the OP’s fingers slipped, and misspelled Garrosh. The day GARROSH will be worth anything is when he dies. It’s okay guys, they just got confused for a sec. But no really, despite the “good” that Garrosh has done, all of it is a moot point with what he’s doing NOW and GOING to do.
Oh no. My fingers did not slip. You clearly have very little understanding of him, which is odd, considering you seem to know exactly what's going to happen, even what he's going to do.
There is no need to be rude and be sarcastic toward me when all I did was make legitimate comments. If you'd like to express your opinions in a logical, thought out way, feel free. I will respond in kind, as I have with the posters above you.
Phew. Done.
