The dark hour had passed, and the world was at peace again. The time was 12:30... and Kill La Kill was on Toonami.
Mayu huddled on top of her messy bed, her dinosaur patterned comforter covering her body like a cocoon, dirtying her crumpled sheets with crumbs of circus animal cookies. Onscreen, Ryuko and Satsuki were locked in the first battle of the series. Another rerun, though Mayu never minded. There was no school on Sunday, so no problem, right?
The noise of the TV wasn't up terribly loudly, since Mayu had her sleeping floormates to consider, but she was so engrossed in the episode--and her delicious sugary animal cookies--that any outside noise didn't register. All that mattered in that moment was anime, cookies, and a warm blanket. Sleep could wait.
