Fight! Iczer One

I recently watched Fight! Iczer One, an anime OAV from the mid-1983s. I think you should watch it, too. Imagine:

An even older Pacific Rim predecessor than that Evangelion episode

But with eldritch horror-themed aliens

And Oops! All Lesbians

Also the most reluctant protagonist I have ever seen. Shinji Ikari has nothing on this kid.

I don't mean to imply it's unjustified, but it's still hilarious to watch a girl spend a good chunk of her own movie like

The one caveat to my recommendation is that there's nudity. It's mostly non-sexual, and nothing with our unhappy protagonist is sexual, but said protagonist is in high school, so that's not something everyone will be comfortable with.

Monday 9th September: Metal skin panic Madox-01 (1987)- Koji fights off Kilgore from getting his hands on MADOX.

Tuesday 10th September: Iczer-1 (1985-1987)- Iczer-1 meets Iczer-2.

Wednesday 11th September: Blue submarine no. 06 (1998-2000)- Mutio saves Hayami.

Thursday 12th September: Akai Hayate (1991)- A Hayate-possessed Shiori fights Sanetsuna to protect Jun and leaves him to rejoin the Shinogara ninja.

Friday 13th September: Mai-Mai miracle (2009)- Shinko and Tatsuyoshi go to bar California to avenge Tatsuyoshi's father.

Saturday 14th September: Princess Rouge (1997-1998)- Kaige fights Regulus.

Sunday 15th September: Izumo (1991)- Izumo and Sanae steal Navi's glider.
