Monday 9th September: Metal skin panic Madox-01 (1987)- Koji fights off Kilgore from getting his hands on MADOX.

Tuesday 10th September: Iczer-1 (1985-1987)- Iczer-1 meets Iczer-2.

Wednesday 11th September: Blue submarine no. 06 (1998-2000)- Mutio saves Hayami.

Thursday 12th September: Akai Hayate (1991)- A Hayate-possessed Shiori fights Sanetsuna to protect Jun and leaves him to rejoin the Shinogara ninja.

Friday 13th September: Mai-Mai miracle (2009)- Shinko and Tatsuyoshi go to bar California to avenge Tatsuyoshi's father.

Saturday 14th September: Princess Rouge (1997-1998)- Kaige fights Regulus.

Sunday 15th September: Izumo (1991)- Izumo and Sanae steal Navi's glider.

30 Day Anime Challenge: Day 30

An anime you wish never ended and continued on.

I have no idea if anyone on this site remembers this anime, but about 20 years ago, there was an OVA series released called Princess Rouge: The Legend of the Last Labyrinth, or Legend of the Last Labyrinth if you bought the Media Blasters DVD or VHS. I remember seeing the trailer for it on one of my Magic Knight Rayearth 2 DVDs and I really loved the song in it. (I’m listening to it as I type) I found the DVD somewhere, watched it, enjoyed it, but unfortunately… it was never finished!! I read somewhere, years ago, on a shrine dedicated to the series that it was originally planned to be 6 episodes, but due to the low LaserDisc/VHS sales of episodes 1 and 2, it was canceled. The animation in the first episode is really beautiful, but unfortunately their’s a huge drop in quality in the 2nd episode. 

To this very day, I still want to know what was supposed to happen next and hope that maybe, somehow, this series will be finished, and I don’t care what format, be it a drama CD, manga adaptation, another OVA, etc. I don’t care, I need to know!!

It’s been a while so I figured it was time to crack out another one of my old anime singles in a 320kb rip! This time it’s the theme single from the obscure J.C. Staff OVA, Princess Rouge. Anyone have fond memories of this one? Essentially an Aa! Megami-sama! photocopy with some cute designs, the OVA helped a bunch of newbie staff to cut their teeth in the industry. Rouge’s seiyuu, Kikuchi Shiho, sings “Last Labyrinth” which is used as the ending theme to the animated episodes. Sugawara Sachiko as her character, Suzumura Koine, belts out the C/W song. Neither are hugely memorable but I must admit to having a soft spot for “Last Labyrinth” (it’s cute idk). Anyway I’ve ripped the full single for your enjoyment below if you feel like taking a trip down memory lane.

Again, another OVA that never made it anywhere. I have no clue why they renamed this one! It was once called Princess Rouge. I think. I can remember being 14 and devastated there wasn't more!
