My animal id is #123180. #ID123180: I am a male black cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years 3 weeks old. I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 8/3/2021, with the surrender reason stated as person health - medical. Sorry, this pet is for new hope partners only: Nena is on the emergency placement list due to behavioral reasons. He displays fearful behavior and will escalate to swat when uncomfortable. He remains calm when interacting with from afar. Due to his stress levels, it is in Nena's best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. He would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to new people. Medically, Nena has been diagnosed with a URI (respiratory illness) which should clear up with a course of antibiotics. Let's get to know each other a bit more...
