Humantion - an IDE Master's Project (2017)

Humantion - An IDE Master's project aimed at creating a home that understands your emotions and improves your environment. Humantion scans your facial expressions and body language to inform itself about your emotions. Based on those emotions it improves the environmental qualities of your living space.

Anna Wojdecka IDE 2014 on BBC Shorts

As part of her IDE graduation project, Anna Wojdecka has developed a device that reads the surface of the page and translates colours into sound and black lines into tactile feedback.

IDE Graduate Wins Helen Hamlyn Design Award 2014

Designed by Lise Pape IDE 2014, her project is an innovative footwear that help people with neurological conditions walk with confidence, and a new service to support unpaid carers in the community were among winning graduate projects at the 2014 Helen Hamlyn Design Awards earlier this week.

IDE Imperial Show 2014

The 3-day show, which took place from Thursday 3 July 2014 in the College Main Entrance, features nearly 50 different devices developed by students on the Innovation Design Engineering (IDE) course run jointly by Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art.

Other highlights on display include a prototype material that mimics photosynthesis to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen as well as a wearable device that sends the user sensory information about the environment they are moving through, for example warning of a dangerous neighbourhood ahead by chilling the skin.

Students' next generation devices at the IDE Imperial Show 2014

A tool to create 3D textiles and a device to combat ocean acidification in coral reefs are some of the ideas on display at this week's IDE Imperial Show 2014.
