A true master is not an agent of discipline and prohibition, his message is not “You cannot!”, nor “You have to…!”, but a releasing “You can!”—what? Do the impossible, ie, what appears impossible within the coordinates of the existing constellation. And today, this means something very precise: you can think beyond capitalism and liberal democracy as the ultimate framework of our lives. A master is a vanishing mediator who gives you back to yourself, who delivers you to the abyss of your freedom. When we listen to a true leader, we discover what we want (or, rather, what we “always-already” wanted without knowing it). A master is needed because we cannot accede to our freedom directly—for to gain this access, we have to be pushed from outside, since our “natural state” is one of inert hedonism; of what Alain Badiou called the “human animal.”

I love this little film - been there, done that! My ideal state of desk is the very end - except what the heck are those sunglasses doing there? I would replace them with a big screen because, you know, my poor eyes don’t like tiny laptop screens.

Some of the apps I didn’t recognise though, although most of them I use already. Yeah, what a glorious evolution it has been!

Therefore, the human ideal can be realized only if it is such that it can be realized by a mortal man who knows he is such. In other words, the Christian synthesis must be effected not in the Beyond after death, but on Earth during man's life. And this means that the transcendent Universal (God), who recognizes the particular, must be replaced by a Universal that is immanent in the world. And for Hegel this immanent Universal can only be the state. What is supposed to be realized by God in the Kingdom of Heaven must be realized in and by the State, in the Earthly Kingdom.
