24th Christmas - I remember approx 20 years ago, in the dying days of my last relationship, my now ex partner said ‘let’s go to Las Vegas for Christmas, if we can’t have fun there, we can’t have fun anywhere’ As it transpired, we couldn’t have fun anywhere and broke up shortly after the break. The trip was most memorable because we went to Caesars Palace for Christmas dinner for, what has to be, the most bizarre meal I’ve ever had. We were sat at a table and when I said I needed to go to the toilet was told that I couldn’t and soon realised the reason was because the table moved, drifting through corridors and tunnels and finally stopping in a Roman dining hall where a waiter came out and sang the menu and a magician bought the food, making it appear out of nowhere. The most unbothersome part of the whole occasion was when some beefy Roman centurions chased us into the cocktail lounge.
