In the middle of filming my mermaid tutorial I saw an email that I was one of the @WetSeal #iDefinePretty Contest winners. This is how I reacted lol... ugly cry face & all. I'm not ashamed because this is just my true emotions. I can't even put into words what it feels like to see that what I've been praying for has finally come to pass. . I've been in love with modeling since my first fashion show at age 7. I always doubted myself & let my timid/shy demeanor stop me from truly trying to pursue it. I remember being in elementary school flipping through magazines, wishing I could be one of those girls. So to many, this may not be a big deal...but winning this contest is literally a dream come true for me! . Some of you may know that last year I entered Wet Seal's Model Search Contest and thanks to soooo many of you who voted, I came really close! ... but when I didn't win, I was so disappointed in myself. I knew if the blessing was for me, than I had to be prepared for it. So losing meant, my heart and mind wasn't where God wanted me to be. So part of the reason why I'm so happy about winning THIS contest is because I know God gave it to me because He sees that I'm ready for it. All my growth, praying, dedicating my time to Him & above all... SURRENDERING my life to HIM!! is what brought me here & i'm so so so grateful! . . I'm finally at a point in my life where I'm not making my own plans, I'm living for what God wants for me, and what His plans are. So even if my dream of being a big model in a magazine isn't what He wants for me... I'm grateful He's given me this opportunity and can't wait to see how He uses me for His Glory in the future!! God is truly so amazing ya'll. I define pretty as beauty within. I've never liked my appearance: my hair, my body nor my clothing. I was always teased by my family and my classmates, to the point where I had begin to believe it. I was tired of being ugly - so I defined pretty! Admist the negative energy, I found "my pretty" in my passion to help others, in my love for reading and in learning new things. I no longer care about what people think of me. If I had never found what was pretty about me, I would still be living to be approved by others. What is pretty?

Defining pretty: tbh, yes I have looked at a person and defined them as pretty from the outside, but honestly that doesn't really matter. I feel like we can’t really know if a person is actually “pretty” until we meet them. Somebody who has a mean attitude toward me is definitely not pretty in my eyes, and I mean not pretty on the inside. Even though were not perfect #idefinepretty as being humble, kind, loving, truthful, and non-judgemental.(Again nobody is perfect though.) There are so many more adjectives I could use to define being pretty, but I'm sure you get the point. You can be or look pretty as long you want, looking from the outside, which is completely ok, but truthfully it’s only the inside that truly matters.

#idefinepretty as being "you" being in love with yourself and being confident in in yourself personally I'm plus sized I'm a size 16 I'm biracial (black/Mexican) and I have acne scars and traditionally that's looked down upon but I love it and I think it's beautiful that I define pretty #contest

Pretty is an adjective that most women get called based on their looks but my definition of pretty is someone who has a positive attitude and humble ways, one who always strides with confidence no matter falls into your pathway #idefinepretty #contest @wetseal
