Identitarian beliefs are terrible. What’s identitarianism, you might ask? Identitarianism is the judgment of an individual based on what they are, rather than who they are. It’s prevalent in both the left and the right at the moment and the judgment can be either positive or negative. Either way though, it does a disservice to you and the person you are dealing with.
Watch out for thoughts along the lines of: The rich just want... All women are... White guys do... The Jews can’t... Unemployed people always... People who write Tengu muses are just so...
Not only is it a disservice to individuals by stripping away their accomplishments, traits, and preferences in favor of generalizations, it’s usually wrong. Even when you think the generalization is positive, or maybe doubly so when you think it’s positive, you should re-evaluate what you’re saying or thinking.
Judge people for who they are, not by the demographics they might be part of.
