Connor and The Dead Bodies
“You need to stop leaving dead bodies in my kitchen.”
“Ratonhnhké:ton!” Connor flinched at the tone. He was in trouble. It was rare that he’d inflict her wrath on him, but it wasn’t uncommon. When he tracked mud in the house, when he accidentally ate a whole chocolate cake, or the time he pushed her into a lake, at her request, where times of this, and he tried his best to stay on her good side.
Not that he never got mad at her, but those were other stories.
Connor crept down the stairs slowly. What had he done? He didn’t eat her cake, right? Did he track mud into the house? What had he forgotten? He walked into the kitchen, and was conforted with her disapproving look, and a bloody mess on the floor and chair.
Connor grew tense. That’s what he’d forgotten.
“You need to stop leaving dead bodies in my kitchen.” She said seriously, and he gave her the best face he could. The face he knew would always get him out of trouble. He pouted, and widened his brown eyes.
“Dear, I am sorry. I was simply trying to gain information. I did not mean to kill him, he died of other injures.”
“That’s not what I meant.” Her angry expression softened, and she slouched against the chair. “Just don’t be a novice, and clean up your mess.”
“Anything you say, dear.” Connor smiled, happy to evade her anger. He happily grabbed a rag, kissed her, and began cleaning.
