I learned awhile back not to argue with old fools. I am under no obligation to bring them out of ignorance. Old fools are better left ignorant.
This area of Challenge ibadan is known as Idi Odo (bottom of the river) so I told this old fool that it explains why water is always sipping through the tarred road even in the dry season.
The old fool got upset and said just because it’s called Idi Odo doesn’t mean there was a river there. I tried to educate the old fool. The Yoruba civilization is one of the most advanced and sophisticated civilizations in the world with a very advanced language system . Places are usually named and described by natural landmarks or events.
I told the old fool that I remember that area as a kid the place was always damp and had a lot of plantain trees. I remember mostly cause that was where my dad bought chickenfeed for his poultry plus I had friends living in the area
So Governor Seyi Makinde finally did something about it by building a canal underneath road .
This old fools argument was he has lived in ibadan longer than me.
The truth is he is one of those old fools that hate guys with an American experience they talk like they know everything which exposes their ignorance
