@audreyskdramablog​ Probably they picked a POV and stuck with it? Also, I still haven't watched this show, but I feel a winter watching of things coming on. And I may even have the emotional energy for something this intense!

Possibly! It’s just an odd thing I noticed in retrospect when going through a whole series’ worth of screenshots.

Just Between Lovers is a lovely, thoughtful, emotionally taxing drama that you should totally watch. It aired last winter, and I think it would work wonderfully for you this winter. The main couple is my fourth kdrama OTP, so that should tell you how much I liked it. XD

@dramatic-gwynne Thanks for the occasional reminder that someyear I will want to watch a drama and that it’s going to be this one!

This really is one of the best romance dramas I’ve watched all year. I want to recommend it to anyone disillusioned with the romance rut kdrama has found itself in these last few years. It falters a bit at the end but the cuteness of the OTP make up for it :D :D

This would only happen for some kind of publicity shoot. (Oh man why am I suddenly considering an SF AU where post-war they have to do a press junket)

Ed would 100% be wearing ancient sweatpants and a tee shirt that should have seen a trash can a million years ago and I CANNOT tolerate any other discourse on this because the other party would be WRONG.  ALSO I NEED THAT AU.

Splish-Splash Romance - but the fighter is Geol-Oh from Sunkyunkwan Scandal.

He understands why the king has fallen for this strange woman in the moment she pulls out her only weapon--an odd, small knife, too loud when he pushes the blade out of hiding and too thin to do anything but cut in straight lines--and hands it to him as if she sincerely believes it could help. He opens his mouth to wish her good luck, and to his embarrassment and her surprise, a loud, painful hiccup pops out instead. She stares at him, but instead of trying to make the moment any less awkward, he slaps the horse’s rump and sends her off to safety.

The way this gets you is always so funny. I honestly invoke it when writing about Kang Chul shooting Oh Yeon Joo in W, currently. XD Maybe this is a very abstract connection, but it is how my mind works. (Maybe it was on DB where someone kept saying "oh yeah HE SHOT HER" but maybe it was here?) Anyway. I couldn't get into Gumiho because of this issue.

So MGIAG was probably my third or fourth kdrama. Audrey was curating my list and when I got to the part where he leaves her on a boat, I texted HE LEFT HER ON A BOAT for about an hour after I watched it. She encouraged me to finish and promised that the journey was worth it.

It was and it remains one of the best examples, not only of growth of a male character, but inner change. Dae-Woong immediately recognizes what he’s done is wrong and runs back once she starts crying and making it rain. He consistently changes his behavior after that and treats her like a person. It’s an important moment and I cannot fault anyone who didn’t make it past that point because...

13: Are there any tropes you’re embarrassed for enjoying?

how.... dare... you do this to me. LOVE TRIANGLES. Oh my goD i love me a good old love triangle. I slam dunked one RIGHT into my novel and by god I really milked it for all it was worth. Other than that, I shamefully and adoringly love tropes, any and all.  16: What’s more frustrating: plotholes or OOC characters? In my writing or someone else’s? In my writing, I will tolerate plot holes to a point, because I can’t think of any piece of fiction that doesn’t have at least one plot hole. However, in both my writing OR someone else’s, OOC is intolerable. What are you doing??? Figure out what’s going on!! CHARACTERIZATION IS EVERYTHING.  32: meet cute or meet ugly? Oh man I LIVE for the meet ugly. Give me the pride and prejudice, north and south, EVERYTHING where the main couple just meets each other under literally the WORST CIRCUMSTANCES POSSIBLE and i will eat it up witH A SPOON.  THANK.
