"Don't let go."

“Hmm... Tecchan, you know I still think of you as my light, right?” Takao hummed, kicking a foot up. Life was actually pretty boring ever since Kuroko stopped playing. They still had a couple months left in middle school too. Shin-chan was doing his own thing, the rest of the Miracles were off in their own depressing corners, and he was being left behind again.
“But if you’re a shadow too, then that makes me a shadow’s shadow. Don’t you think that’s kind of strange? You just see that in see-through stuff, like when you look down in the pool, or if it’s from the right angle through a window... But you still need light first, and the original shadow. So if Dai-chan’s not your light, and you’re not his shadow, I guess I’m just gonna poof, just like that.”
“Mm... What else... Oh yeah, you can have my basketball if you want. You’re gonna need something to practice with if you come back, right? I’ll be watching for you.” Takao smiled as he let his fingers catch on the roof fence, one foot on the edge. Just three fingers, two, one finger was holding his weight, and then he let go.
