[ ✮ ] —— FOOTSTEPS ARE SILENT AGAINST THE POLISHED FLOOR. infiltration was simple, but extraction was a different story. he was alone on this mission. weapon armed, icy hues scan across the dim lit building. eyes were on him. he could feel it. // @idlcminds liked for a starter !

The store had appeared empty when John arrived, a situation which lent him a quite appreciated ‘ break. ’ When there’s already a monster on a rabid rampage, finding an area its heading towards clear of civilians feels akin to receiving a good grade on a quiz; you still have to pass the inevitable test to follow, yet knowing you’ve aced the preliminary doesn’t hurt. At least, such is the case until his gaze catches sight of a woman a few feet away on a second cursory scrutiny. Dammit.
Closing the gap between them in a quick jog, he shifts his attention back over his shoulder for a second before it returns to her ( the sounds which foretell its arrival are now easily audible from where they stand ). “Don't be scared. I just need you to come with me for a minute.”

Thin fingers make quick work of the other woman’s hair, twisting it into a simple braid beginning at the nape of her neck. A pause is taken for the blonde to pop another CHEETO past her lips, and as she starts munching, her work resumes. The television plays some sort of Saturday morning cartoon in the background, but she’s not paying too much attention. Rather, she’s about to make the concluding statement of her argument ( the one she’d been playing out just before the snack found its way into her mouth ).

✘ BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY.
AN INTRUDER was the last thing he needed. The night’s been dragging on for an eternity and he’s dealt with enough scumbags to take on another smart alec looking for trouble. Unless he’s jumping the gun with that hasty conclusion. But all the experiences he didn’t ask for thought him one thing — BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.
“𝙻𝚎𝚝’𝚜 𝚜𝚊𝚢 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎’𝚜 𝚗𝚘 𝚠𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚗𝚜𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚜,” the robotic voice resounds in the empty shed as he steps forward; his heavy boots mark each stomp with a hollow clunk.
He doesn’t want to come across as HOSTILE, yet his hand still rests close to the holster attached to his belt. Again, just in case. STRANGER DANGER wasn’t ever taken too seriously by him, and in a way it did lead him all the way here, but now he’s getting... nervous. Thanks to the helmet covering his unease, Jason can keep this bit of information to himself.

Hugh didn’t, as a rule, typically enjoy working with Starfleet. Most Starfleet officers had either heard horror stories about the Borg or, worse, they’d lived through some horror stories of their own. The experiences didn’t seem to give them any sympathy for former Borg. It only heightened their distrust. The scars and implants on Hugh’s face were often taken as a threat, inspiring open hostility even in five star admirals who should have known better.
Still, Hugh wouldn’t be alive without a few Starfleet officers who’d seen the person underneath. He liked to give them a chance, even if staying open-minded often served to make the experience more exhausting.
He had a few liberated Borg in stasis for transport to a Federation facility. He was sure they were fully disconnected from the Collective, but Stafleet had insisted they stay in stasis and that they were taken aboard by shuttle rather than transporter. The full rationale he’d been given for this decision had been just in case.
He sat in the front of the shuttle, arms crossed, waiting while a couple security officers carried the stasis pods aboard like cargo. There was an ensign with him. He wondered if it was her job to watch him.
“I guess I should be glad the powers that be didn’t decide to put me in stasis too,” he said in a good-natured tone.

▲ -- for Phillia
Phillia was bullied by Harvey when they were both children. Harvey doesn't remember doing it.
"I mean it. I don’t remember.” Dent’s voice was firm, though clearly tired as he kept a hand over his face. He did try his best to recall what he was told about, but most of his years before the incident had become a mash of traumas he was certain the greatest psychiatrist in the world could not untangle. And his childhood was something he would rather forget entirely.
"I barely remember anything before college, let alone bullying you. What did you say your name was?!” He dragged the hand down, glaring at the woman with a hint of doubt in his eyes. As far as he could tell, they had never met before.

“what do you want to talk about, then?” zack looks over his shoulder at delphi, from where he’s kneeling on the ground, collecting bones and remnants from the body he’s found into evidence bags. he doesn’t see the problem, really --- just because he’s working doesn’t mean they can’t talk about personal stuff. all he asked was how relationships work in her species, and what she usually does to attract a potential romantic partner ( and, perhaps most importantly, what she looks for in a guy ). “or i guess, this could wait until we’re back on the enterprise, but that seems like a waste of time. i can multitask.” as if to prove his point, he digs a pair of kneecaps out from the dirt and holds them up to get a better look.
