jared lets out a low hum as she speaks, a smirk lifting the corner of his mouth as she settles in his lap. his tongue darts out to wet his lips as she plays with his hair before he leans in for the expected kiss, happily and eagerly engaging with the sensual connection.
a soft grunt escapes him as she pushes him back and he looks up at her with some confusion as she starts to move away, though the smirk never completely fades. after all, he still has the upper hand, ( she's only teasing him now because she knows what'll happen later. ) "no, baby," he says, his head tipping to the side curiously as he reaches out for her hip to pull her close again. "what kinda plans have you got?"

dan's brow furrows critically at his daughter's words, tipping his head a bit to the side and for a brief moment ( as if to say, are you serious? ). he sighs heavily and snaps his tongue against the roof of his mouth distastefully. "i think you already know what i meant, jack paisley."
he takes in a deep breath and then lets it out slowly through his nose. "look. i love you, honey," he says, pouring them each a mug of tea. "but i don't want you getting into trouble just because you can, okay?" he takes a sip of his own tea and a pause, then continues with a softer, more concerned expression, warmth in his voice. "i don't want you getting hurt again and i don't want you having a criminal record that gets in the way of your future."
he scoots the mug along the countertop toward her. "so tell me, honestly. no deflection, no jokes. why? what were you doing?"
