prue stands over her own lifeless body and turns toward the reaper with a thick swallow. "he got me, huh?" she glances up at the grandfather clock with a lost and forlorn glance, pronounced dead only moments ago by their family's whitelighter and realizing her fate. "this is how it ends."

a sinking realization, deep and depressing as it hits her all at once. "there's nothing they can do." she says softly, nose crinkling with wry emotion. "otherwise you wouldn't be here, right?"

Billie hears him coming before he appears, has already scrambled to her feet to wring her hands in anticipation of whatever the news might be.

"Ohmygosh," She exhales the phrase as a singular word, hand fluttering to her chest. "I'm so relieved."

At the following question, Billie shakes her head. "No, I um-" Smelled the blood. "-saw her. As I was walking past. She's not mine."

a soft smile curls the corner of his mouth at the sound of her relief. ( goddamn, she was as sweet as she was beautiful, caring so much about an animal she'd never even seen before today. ) he lets out a soft sigh through his nose at her answer. "she's a good girl," he says kindly. "it just looks like a dog got its paws on her. she's a little scraped up, but it's nothing a little TLC and rest won't heal."

his smile spreads. "it's good you brought her in when you did," he continues. "we'll find a good home for her; i know some great shelters and sanctuaries, i'm sure someone will take her."

IT'S RARE MAELINA IS MOVED TO OUTRIGHT IRRITATION. but what would one of her daughters call this? rancid vibes, perhaps? a sigh deep from her chest, and only by grace of her patient nature she resists the urge to roll her eyes. hands clasp in front of her. giving off the energy of an exasperated mother. she's not mad, just disappointed. "you could just take one of those haunted tours." tight lipped smile. "i think ghosts tend to leave you alone if you don't go poking around in their business. you find yourself to be haunted by poltergeists and spirits?"

opal sighs, her own frustration expressed in the disappointed breath. how could the other woman not understand her intentions? ( obviously she wasn't taking her seriously. ) "i don't want to hear the sensationalized bullshit a tour guide gets paid to say about 'the most haunted city in the united states'," she puts on her best spooky narrator voice to exaggerate the foolishness of the cliched claim.

her comment about ghosts resonates though and she inhales deeply through her nose, breathing out slowly at the question, settling on a soft nod ( so brief you could almost miss it ) in response. "yes," she says. "and maybe you're right, maybe it's my own fault for prying but... it's too late now. i just want answers."

YOU KNOW WHAT? IF HE WAS A MIND-READER, HE WOULDN'T BE OFFENDED by the concern over his appearance. orpheus, though usually lacking what some would call self-awareness, is aware about his jarring appearance, at least. some would say he should put on sunglasses, but he would lose them, probably. on the bright side, he's not a mind-reader, unlike his sister. and she's not here right now, so whatever!

anyways! he's not a mind reader, but can tell she's spooked regardless (though he lacks the insight as to why). so, like his sisters have taught him, he keeps a friendly and respectable distance. cautiously puts the bottle of water down next to her - and sits next to (but not Right Next To, he'd like to clarify) her, fidgeting absently with his hands.

a kind smile. a helping hand. he's harmless, he promises. "yeah. it's real." the confusion reminds him of when he first got out of the labs. the confusion and disorientation isn't strange and alarming to him. maybe she reminds him of himself, maybe he just UNDERSTANDS. "it's real. i have like, a granola bar, too. do you want that?" a beat, and he shrugs his shoulders. "orpheus, yeah. my sister said it's after a greek figure, or something, but i dunno. you got a name? you don't have to tell me, though. i can just call you water bottle girl, until we're friends, or something."

she is grateful for the respectful distance for now, even though a part of her craves some grounding contact and affirming companionship to replenish and rejuvenate her after how long she's spent alone with her thoughts and all of the ( often vicious ) ghosts that haunted her home.

she breathes a soft sigh of relief as he confirms reality in a way that feels warm and gentle instead of cruel and mocking like the voices she's grown used to. she could almost cry.

she swallows down the lump in her throat and nods eagerly in response to his question. "please," she says, her voice cracking before she grabs the water bottle and gulps down nearly half of it, trying to soothe her aching windpipe. "a granola bar would be incredible." she clears her throat again, clinging to the plastic like a lifeline.

"i'm harriet."

perla strives for his level of chill. some of her masks are cooler, more confident, but fae's been thrown off faer game by a series of inconveniences and overstimulating situations and she's down to her most vulnerable presentation. "sugar always helps," fae agrees with a smile spreading faer face. "you got another popsicle?"

my queue runs out tomorrow and i'm still burning the candle at both ends, so please be patient during these next few days of radio silence. hopefully i'll get some writing done over the weekend, but it is my birthday weekend so i may not 💖 i wanna be writing, i'm just so burnt out right now. sending you all much love and please know i'm always available for short things on discord!

He’s rude, putting his cigarette out on her truck like that. Another slight against her, something she’s tallying up in the back of her head like it’ll justify what might happen to him down the line. It seems forgiven, or at the least, overlooked, as he drags her further down the hood until they’re tight together.

She allows him to touch where he wants while her arms drift around his neck. One hand tangles in the hair at the back of his skull, pulls him in. Ellory’s never been gentle – it’s all hunger and fire when the gap closes beneath them and her tongue presses into his mouth. Rougher, still, when she yanks his head back to expose his throat to her.

“This is fun, but…” The last word leaves her mouth with a pop at the end of it. “… we’d have more fun in the bed of the truck, don’t ya think?”

clyde has no trouble keeping up with her and the kiss they share is searing hot, like a branding iron against tender skin. it's burning, so fierce and rough it should leave a mark. his tongue slides against hers desperately before he pulls the muscle into his mouth and suckles. suddenly, his hair is pulled and he lets out a low and animal growl.

"you're one rough bitch," he purrs, the statement obviously praise even despite the sharp words chosen. he slips away from her, his hand slipping down her leg and gripping under her knee to pull her off the hood with him. "i think that's a great idea."
