02/12/14 To be alone and happy
One of my many theories in life is that a person can only be truly happy when they are happy with solely their own company. And this is what blows my mind about people that are constantly in relationships: how can you actually know who you are if you can't be 100% happy completely by yourself. Ultimately the only person you can depend on is yourself so I feel like you gotta get to know this person pretty well.
I am currently having an alone and happy moment. It's 1:23am on a Wednesday and I am drinking wine, painting my nails and dancing on my couch by myself. I'm also thinking of all the assholes I have surrounded myself with in the last two years and realizing that I would take this moment: this ecstatic moment of solitude on a normal Wednesday over any of the time I spent with them any day.
This actually makes me quite proud of myself, for once I'm not looking for anyone and I'm enjoying learning to love myself in my entirety :) Do I still slightly doubt that any man will love me as much as I love myself? oh hells yes, but that's something i'm working on. But that will come in time. For now I am perfectly content knowing that there is someone on the other side of the world that may love me as much as I love me and spending these lovely average Wednesday mornings drinking wine and dancing to Hedley. And because of that I will be stronger and a more well-rounded individual.
If only I could challenge the world to learn as I have. If I could, I would challenge every woman in the world to spend a year by themselves, learn everything they can about themselves, love themselves and then find someone that loves all those things too. Those to me, are strong women and I'm proud to be one.
