Sometimes I wish I could believe our perception of God is real so bad it brings me to tears. The Bible has been translated back and forth between languages and now is very different from the original texts. Jesus' name should be Joshua, but we get it by translating from Hebrew to Greek to Latin to English. What else like that is wrong? How much is missing? Are there interpretations and translations that completely change the texts? I believe so, and it's not possible for me to believe what these people have preached to me for so many years. I believe the brain is a very powerful thing and that when God is speaking to us or we feel his presence, it's nothing more than a chemical reaction that makes us feel that way and we jump to conclusions. I believe that there is a creator who may or may not give a shit about us and I hope I'm not condemned for not being able to believe. I just can't base my life off a book that could have been misinterpreted or changed by the early catholic church, and a feeling I get. I truly believed in God when I was at church camp, but he never came home with me, the feelings were gone. It felt so good to believe at camp, but I just felt so alone at home and I didn't like any of the churches around me. It makes me sad, but I think I would be even more sad if I tried to go on being a Christian when I can't truly believe in God anymore. I loved the feeling of being with other people who cared about me, who I could talk to about pretty much anything. It hurts to walk away from that family but I couldn't continue and be a fake Christian, I would feel too guilty. I still live my life trying to do good and help people where I can. I believe in morality, right and wrong, and a lot of Christian values are still instilled in me. I think what I believe in is people, we're more connected than we like to think. We can change this world if we believe hard enough in something, whether it's based on fact or not, for better or for worse.

From then to now(: it is important that I take a selfie on the day of my 18th birthday, so I know exactly how I've changed and what I look like. It's been 18 years since I've been in my mamas belly. Do I look any different? #birthday #18 #legalnow #idontknowwhatiam #imaboyandimaman #adulthood?
