A Friendly Tip

Tired of a telemarketer calling you? Well, stop just hanging up. Yes, I know, it sounds weird, but if you give a telemarketer some key information they will stop calling. First, give them your name. They may not even be calling the right number and just by telling them who you are can stop the calls instantly. Companies cannot repeatedly call wrong numbers, there are large fines if they do. Second, after you have identified yourself and determined they are looking for you then all you have to say is 8 words and you can hang up if you wish (just be sure to speak clearly so there is no miscommunication or misinterpretation). “Put me on your Do Not Call list.” You could even try to not be an asshole and throw a please in there. It is a huge fine every time they call you after you’ve asked to be put on the DNC list, so trust that they aren’t going to call back.

That’s it, it’s that easy. Now stop being an asshole and just hanging up, we really don’t want to call you a zillion times.
