Under The Mask
CHANGES The six humans that previously fell live in the underground in hiding amongst the monsters Only one monster ever knew that there were humans, possibly two monsters, in the whole underground. (Sans and Gaster) The six humans don't have their souls reaped until after Frisk falls. Chara is still alive, and lives in the underground as well. Flowey does not exist, Asriel is alive and Chara lives with him. It is a true pacifist route and a genocide route intertwined, as Chara and Frisk are left to their own devices. CHARACTERS Chara- Chara is the first human to fall to the underground. They meet Gaster(post core) instead of Flowey and he gives them a 'mask' to wear to hide their human identity. Chara leaves, and meets Asriel who decides to bring them home. She finds her way all the way to the New Home, where Asgore and Toriel welcome them into the family as a monster. She later disappears, much to the disappointment of her 'brother' Asriel and their mom and dad. Asriel is left to be the only child of the family again. No one ever found out where she went. The Six Humans- The six humans who fell were also greeted by Gaster. Each was given their own mask. Asriel never saw them, as his parents forbid him to return to the old Home for personal reasons. Each human went on as unique monsters, blending in and being welcomed nicely by others around them. They all decided to settle down and go their own ways in the underground, missing their old lives but also having their eyes opened to new ideas about the monsters they once were so afraid of. Soon they wish for the freedom of the monsters as well, but never enough to bring themselves out in the open as humans. WD Gaster- Gaster was still the royal scientist, but before he fell into the core, he had been working on a project that would pay off in the future. He created a clone of himself with his dna. When he fell into the core, he managed to survive by landing in the void. Gaster found a way to stabilize what goop his body had become enough to be visible in darker areas like the flower patch areas at the start of the game. WD Tempus- Red is a clone of Gaster made with his dna. He developed the font Tempus Sans as well as Wingdings, earning him the name WingDing Tempus. He likes to wear all shades of red, which is why he gained the nickname Red. He was originally created as an experimental biological weapon, but ultimately became too mellow and calm to put it into use against the humans like Gaster wanted. He was considered a failed experiment, but Gaster still put him to use in the lab as a helper, as well as a baby sitter. Red would watch his kids(sans and papyrus) until the youngest became 18. He would take over for Gaster, or at least try to, after he falls into the core. Red feels responsible for his death because he wasn't around to save him, and it is still a heavy weight on his chest. He eventually goes to the core to willingly fall in himself, but before he would hit what would send him to death or even the void, he ends up landing on a cold, rocky floor. He ended up all the way back in waterfall, in a different timeline. ((Timeline jumper for rp reasons, canon in the au but no longer exists in his universe, long forgotten once he left.)) Sans- Sans is the same, for the most part. He still cracks jokes and puns, still drinks ketchup, and still keeps an eye on the humans. Sans can see the humans as just wearing their masks, probably because the masks mess with something of an aura around the human. Sans being a humanoid skeleton, can see through the disguise. However, he doesn't give away that the humans who fell are really humans, because of what he had seen with Chara and Asriel. They were able to become friends, and so he gives the humans a chance before he declares any judgement. None have gone genocidal, there are a couple neutrals, but once they learned their mistakes, they all became content settling down. Sans would prefer to keep an eye on them at night, which is why he's usually sleeping during his shifts as a sentry. He thinks Red is fun when he's younger. He's not forgotten him, but the memory is hazy since he's disappeared. It hasn't been the same with Alphys as the royal scientist. Papyrus- Papyrus is still outgoing, his search for humans is never-ending, but he's become a bit disheartened as he has yet to ever find one. Still, he keeps his hopes up. He has a lot of cooking lessons with Undyne still. Undyne- Undyne is still captain of the royal guard. She hasnt seen a human, but she still learns what they would look like from alphys. She thinks monster kid is a bit fishy, but eventually he gains her friendship and Undyne duplexes boulders and shows off her strength for him. Alphys- The nerd is still a gigantic nerd. She becomes the new royal scientist not long after Tempus and Gaster disappear. Her interests in Determination experiments never come forth. She experiments with plant life and monster souls, though, monster souls never seem to work. She keeps surveillance on most everywhere, though no matter how hard she tries, the cameras in the ruins tend to have bouts of static fits where she cant see anything. Still super gay, eventually Undyne tries helping her with her research, and they end up becoming close. Mettaton- He remembered Blooky after a fateful encounter with his fan, specifically one of the hidden humans. He was reminded of his old life with Blooky, and ends up going back to see him every now and again. His fame continued to be a success and kept the monsters and hidden humans up beat, even with guest visits from the sad little ghost cousin he loved. Napstablook- He makes friends with one of the hidden humans that fell, much like he would have with frisk.
