let’s grab a drink

Jia was not entirely sure where the bravery came from, except that she needed to make up for embarrassing King and for the drink he was kind enough to get her on the night of the Gayos. So, she invited him for a drink in the cabana by the pool. Admittedly, they were both standing near the bar, but it hardly made it less daunting for her to ask him to hang out, though they had known each other for years. She was too entirely sober for this, but she managed to stutter out the words, thankfully not calling him pretty a single time.
“King oppa... would you like to grab a drink? I wanted to apologize for embarrassing myself so much the other night,” she said. Except, the other night was a long time ago. Great. Her foot was in her mouth again. “Please, I heard they make a very good borgoña. Or I can get you some mote con huesillo if you prefer something with no alcohol.” She needed to shut her mouth before she rambled on, listing any drinks she knew in Spanish when he clearly was not going to understand. Instead, she turned around and headed for the cabana, not looking back to see if he was following her, since that would involve far too much eye contact. Instead, she plopped herself in front of a stool and began speaking to the bartender in rapid fire Spanish, which was met with a surprised look from them. Of course. Though her ancestry was Puerto Rican, her face screamed Korean. She placed the order for the borgoña, clearing her throat.
“Um, what would you like...King oppa?” His name still sounded like a question coming out of her mouth. She was not exactly used to calling him anything. Mostly it was just a lot of gaping and praying he didn’t know she went out with Jinhwan once over a year ago. Or that he at least had the decency to not make fun of the way the way she acted on said date. “I can order it for you.”
