I’m gonna dance like everyone’s watching! . . . I’ve been called fat my entire life I’ve had to physically defend myself against bullies who thought it was ok to lay their hands on me. I’ve been called some pretty disgusting things and at one point in my life I felt like there really was no way out of my thoughts and feelings. But I grew from those things, why did I let them calling me fat make me feel defeated when I was capable of amazing despite my size, why did I give their words so much power over myself? And why didn’t I say enough was enough sooner? I can’t dwell on my past but I wouldn’t change it for anything because it taught me to be to be tenacious, it taught me that the only opinion that matters about myself is my own.
