This sounds interesting!
Am I correct at assuming our MC died at 29, and so, when resurrected, is younger than the people they used to share ages with?
Because that's so tragic (and hot). Obviously angsty. Plus I love being able to romance older RO's, since most WIPs only have younger romantic options. Rarely you see someone in their late forties.
It does beg the following question, however: how is the MC's appearance affected by the resurrection? Is it affected? Since most of the effects that seem in place from the intro post seemed mostly mental (lack of memories, maybe changes in personality).
I ask, because I don't what is most angsty: MC looking exactly the same, if not better than they used to do before dying, and they're wrong due to their different personality/lack of memories/other symptoms I'm yet to know; or MC still looking relatively the same, but there's something unsettling about how they look, as if you could plainly see they were a corpse just recently.
Both are interesting, especially since (if I assume correctly) it has been 20 years since MC died. Their corpse shouldn't be something... Easy to revive. There shouldn't be much corpse to recover, if anything.
Omg HI anon, I am delighted to answer this! Thank you for taking your time to write this, all of these are excellent questions and I will do my best to answer them all!
Yes MC dies at the age of 29, and has not aged a day since they passed, and the people they used to know have all gotten 20 years older. Friends younger than them prior are now older than MC has ever been.
If you are looking for other great IF's with 'older' RO's I highly recommend @suevi-if and @aelvsbyn-if ! I am more than willing to fill in the lack of older RO's lmao <3
The shift in MC's appearance will be a customizable choice in the story, so if you don't wish for something too drastic there should be one or two options that suit that! The main change will be in MC's personality/mind, but then again I think I too would be unsure how to handle missing out on 20 years.
I think being soaked in swampy water for a couple years have left some changes, but maybe most of those changes happened not to the MC but rather those that knew them ;))
And no, whoever or whatever that revived MC wasn't willing to give up so easily.
