His eyes feel heavy, but he has to fight it. The sad partis that he knows he’s not going to make it out of this onealive. But if there’s one thing he has to do, it’s to restoreCassandra’s courage. He coughs, blood spilling from his mouth and onto hischest. But he doesn’t want Cass to worry about it. Sohe just reaches out for the back of her scalp, pressinga forehead against her own, sharing silence together.
