6 years ago, you told me to close my eyes. I felt you grab my left hand and slid something on my ring finger. You said “ this is the first of many, I promises. I promise to love you forever”. I opened my eyes and you slipped my first promise ring on my finger. ( although you didn’t know I was allergic to it at the time and we had to take the ring back) you never took back your promise. The promise to love me and to cherish me for the rest of our days. I may not see you as much now as I did then. But it hasn’t made me love you any less. From the first ring to the last.
