I’m thinking about what the boys wrote about Liam and about how every post sheds light on different aspects of their friendship with Liam.

We have Louis who posted a photo taken during the last times of the band, when he and Liam were adult. Yet in the photo we see Liam bothering Louis and Louis bearing his jokes. They were adults, but they were still the same boys: Liam, always looking up to Louis and ready to bother him, and Louis, always ready to indulge him as if he was his big brother.

What Louis wrote is a friendship message, full of love and affection because despite everything Louis has always been next to Liam, even during difficult times and what Liam did never soil Louis’ love for him.

We have Zayn who instead posted a photo taken during the first years of the band, when they were very young and they were yet to find out their differences; a photo of when things were easy. For me it’s not by chance that Zayn used a photo of them sleeping quietly, one leaning on the other. I think he wanted to celebrate the happy and easy moments of their friendship.

What he wrote maybe is the post that moved me the most. He is so full of regret and remorse. It’s the message of someone who knows he has “unfinished business” that will remain unfinished unfortunately. And this breaks my heart.

We have Harry who chose a photo where there is only Liam while he is singing, while he is doing the thing he loved the most in front of an audience that listens to him and loves him. Harry wanted to remember Liam this way, as an artist and as a person who loved his job and his fans.

His post is the shorter one. It is very adjusted and coincise. But this doesn’t surprise me because Harry always uses his silence to speak and the few words he used reflect his pain, as if he doesn’t have the energy to add more and to do long speeches. Harry has always lived his pain in private.

And then we have Niall. He also used a photo from the first years of the band, when they were maybe 17 or 18 years old. A picture of when things were easy, while they are smiling and are carefree. That’s how Niall wants to remember Liam, as a friend he grew up with and had fun with.

As Harry, he didn’t write a long message, but Niall is not very “sentimental” in public. Yet to me everything is in that "Payno"; everything is in that "Nialler". The nicknames that they gave each other when they were in the band. It’s all there, his affection is all in that "Nialler".
