Meet Schöner Náci (or Schöne Náci), a renowned Bratislava character of the mid-20th century. This old man is the only statue which is silver (the rest is bronze). He is also the only statue of a real existing person. - Schöner Náci, born Ignác Lamár, was the son of a shoemaker and grandson of a famous clown, also Ignác Lamár, and was inspired by the latter's example to bring happiness to the streets of the city. But some other rumors says that he was in love with a woman who sadly did not love him back. This disappointed him so much that he went mad and people could often see him giving flowers to random women he met in the streets, greeting them with the words, “I kiss your hand” in German, Hungarian and Slovak. - He always wore a hat - which you can also see on the statue. He mainly greets people on the Sedlárska Street. He received free food from several of the city’s cafes, and supported himself with occasional cleaning work, one of it was Kaffee Mayer where the statue located. - (09/10/2018) . . . . . . . . . #bratislava #slovakia #ig_bratislava #ig_slovakia #europe #eurotrip #latepost #throwback #instagood #instadaily #igers #photooftheday #photography #ongooglemaps #explore #exploreeurope #exploringeurope #beautifuldestinations #shotoniphone #beautifulview #beautifuleurope #voyaged #bratislavaoldtown #oldtownhall #oldtownhallbratislava #silverstatue #schönenaci #schönernaci #statue (at Schöner Náci) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3BBD3Ehz5h/?igshid=1xz42rqbqnp0c
