We're engaged! Here's the story: One of my favorite photographers @levitskyi.photography was going to be in Kiev the same time I was, and I planned on getting engaged to Karolina sometime in March while I'm visiting. Valdislav was in Kiev March 2nd and available to photograph, and he wanted to photograph my engagement. That was a bit sooner than I was originally planning, so I prayed and asked God to give me a good idea of how to ask Karolina and some ideas came to mind :) I've been wanting Karolina to meet Valdislav the photographer because he's absolutely amazing and really REALLY funny, so this plan worked out great. Last Saturday on March 2nd, Karolina and I met up with Valdislav in Maidan- the main square of Kiev. We started snapping photos, walking around Kiev and made our way to a nearby park. The day got colder and colder and Karolina wasn't wearing the warmest outfit, so I was worried that she was just going to call it quits and say 'lets leave' before I had the chance to have my plan play out. When it almost got too cold to bear, I found a road that was suitable for my plans. I had a bag full of goodies for the engagement. I pulled out some chalk and told Karolina that we have to draw a picture or poem of what our relationship means to us or something that represents us. The key was we couldn't look at each other's masterpiece until we were both done, and we had to be back to back in order to not peek. While Karolina was busy drawing an actual good representation (because she's good at art) I was busy drawing a heart filled with "WILL U MARRY ME?" complete with a check yes or no box (because I also had her check yes or no on a letter in order to be my girlfriend), and lit some candles. A few minutes passed and we both finished, so I got up and stood in front of her and pulled out a love letter and read it to her. Then I turned her around, handed her a piece of chalk so she could check yes or no. We both knelt down and she hovered around NO, giving me a big TEASE!! She checked YES and then I asked Karolina to marry me!
