Artwork completed for @fecrackshipweek. This was for Day 3, and I went with "First Kiss".

I was so excited to see another unhinged ship week event, but had to deal with finals so I didn't get to complete as much art as I wanted to...doesn't help I went a bit ham with experimenting with the colors and lighting (I am so happy with how the colors and lighting worked out though, this was a lot of fun to work on once I got past inking whatever Hubert's outfit is supposed to be). This feels almost embarassingly self-indulgent, but then, what is a crackship for otherwise?

Felt so good to be able to just sit down and really work on this for a few hours once my finals were completed. Trying out some new things with my borders too--I found a way to more easily draw decorative knot designs, and I've been enjoying drawing more complex borders as a result.

Hubert Rare Pair Week Day 1: Secrets; Ignatz/Hubert

Summary:

A human was kneeling beside him. Their brown eyes were wide with panic, looking between Hubert and the treeline behind them. They were blubbering in that awkward human language Hubert could barely stand. His head was already spinning enough without attempting to puzzle together whatever they might be trying to convey, so he reached out and seized the hand they were shaking him with. “What is it?” He forced out, looking at the human through a dried-out black fringe. The human gaped before saying, “Y-You have to go! Get back in the water before they find you. Go!”

Artwork completed for @ferarepairweek. This was for Day 3, and I went with "Dreams". Okay, hear me out, I swear I can explain. So both Hubert and Ignatz wish they could fly on a pegasus, and Hubert compliments Ignatz's strategy in Ch6 of Scarlet Blaze in Three Hopes, and that got me wondering why they never got a support chain, which then led to me trying to figure out what that support chain would even look like, and then one thing led to the next and here we are. This is absolutely a crackship, and whether it turns into a ship I'm actually serious about remains to be seen. But hey, it wouldn't be a rarepair project for me if I didn't draw at least one batshit insane crackship that makes sense to me and no one else. Everyone should have a little chaos, as enrichment.
