If I could transform into an animal, a dolphin is near the top of the list — so thanks to @thedolphinexplorer I got to head out on a venture in Naples to watch and photograph these amazing animals. Bob, @bobdolphin a master naturalist, lead the tour and answered all the group’s questions explaining all about the dolphins and the history of various individuals. Some used to have fishhooks in their fins, and another had a shark bite. One of them needed a fintervention to remove fishing line from its body (get the pun?). I found it fascinating when he explained that these shallow water dolphins only can hold their breath for about three minutes, but if you took the exact same kind of dolphin and raised it in the open ocean, it’s breath hold would be much longer. Guess it’s all in what you get used to. What a cool experience, I’m glad to have been part! #paradisecoast #igersnaplesfl #dolphin #florida (at Marco Island, Florida)
