Terni is the second-largest settlement in Umbria, yet it is often bypassed in favour of these headline towns—not to mention the wonderful Marmore waterfalls. But there are some vestiges of the past amid the modern architecture in this industrial city: the Roman theatre and wall, the Cathedral, Renaissance palaces and pastel-coloured medieval alleys.
