A girl prepares a meal with a curious onlooking cow standing motionless besides her in Lira district, located in the northern part of Uganda- March 2015. In this part of the country, a cow is a source of pride. A source of wellness. A measure of wealth. A school girl jumps high playing a rope game called "Bladda" during break time at Awere Primary in Gulu district, northern Uganda. It's a game, mostly played by girls where two of them hold a rope around their waists and another jumps into the rope with one leg and out on two legs. Interestingly, this school is located in Joseph Konys' village and the picture illutrates the transformation northern Uganda has undergone since the Lord Resistance Army (LRA) insurgency commenced. Peace has returned to the region and the population is slowly picking up the pieces both economically and socially.
