Getting Away With Murder
Summary: Following their discussions the previous evening, the boys get to work on their plan to go camping and commit a murder most foul.
As predicted, finding a spot to camp near to the forest hadn't been at all difficult. A recent shower of rain meant that many campers had retreated away to somewhere sunnier and fairer in climate, but the wolves were not deterred by a little rain. If anything it only spurred them on, giving them more privacy with which to conduct their plan. They'd arrived at a good time the day before, and had spent the entire day getting a lay of the land. They wanted to be as familiar with the territory as they could be, so that they could have some form of an advantage. But the entire time that they'd walked around, they'd been able to smell him.
The wolf that they were tracking had practically left his scent on every single tree. It made going after him right then and there so tempting, but Roman had somehow managed to regain his sanity and stay put. They were best waiting until the cover of night, and as they'd sat by the fire that they'd made, watching the sun go down, the grin on Roman's face got larger. It wasn't long until they night was cold and still around them, the forest awakening and calling to them to explore, to hunt, and kill.
That was a call Roman was only too happy to heed.
He stood from where he'd been, stretching as wide and high as he could. He felt his bones crack and grinned at his friend, unable to stop the sadistic smirk which spread across his face. "Ready?" he asked, glancing into the nearby forest. He wondered if the wolf they were hunting had noticed that there were scents from other wolves in the woods now, mingling with his. He wondered if he knew that he was being hunted, or if he even cared. He hoped not, because Roman was really looking forward to getting his hands on him.
